CIT I, July 13-Aug 1
You’re a spirited go-getter, aspiring to be your favorite version of yourself—you’re a Counselor-in-Training (CIT)! If you’re looking for a future in camp counseling, teaching, or other human service fields, being a CIT is a step in the right direction!
CITs come to camp to experience adventure, find forever friends, and learn skills to become a responsible and inspiring leader. This two-summer adventure is designed based on the insights of leading child development experts, Girl Scouts of the USA and the American Camp Association. You’ll gain hands-on experience in learning to lead, child development, outdoor skills, responsibility, conflict resolution, working with a diverse group, and group dynamics. In the second year, in addition to camp activities, you’ll learn more about working with younger campers and will have the opportunity to lead them in camp activities. From reaching new heights in the treetops, navigating the river in a kayak, relaxing with a good book in a hammock, and swapping stories and songs by the campfire, you’ll experience all that camp has to offer on this three-week leadership journey.
CITs will have a session break from 1:30 p.m. on July 18, 2025, through 1:30 p.m. on July 21, 2025. CITs must plan to leave camp during this session break.
Scheduling accommodation may be made if a camper has to miss a few days of this program. CIT I is not required to participate in CIT II. After successful completion of the CIT program, campers are encouraged to apply to work as camp staff prior to the summer they turn 18.
(Grade level for registration is the grade your Girl Scout will be entering in Fall 2025)
