DESCRIPTION:Dementia Friends is a one hour informational session to learn about living with dementia and the simple things you can do to support someone living with dementia. \n\n\nGirl Scouts can become a Dementia Friend by scheduling a one-hour informational session to learn about living with dementia\, and the simple things we can do to support someone living with the disease. \n\n\n\n\nWhat Happens at the Information Session?\n\n\n\n\nThe free one-hour session is a discussion led by a Dementia Friends Champion. You’ll learn some basics of dementia such as what dementia is\, what it’s like to live with the disease\, and some tips for communicating with people who have dementia. Everyone who attends is asked to turn their new understanding of dementia into a practical action that can help someone living in your community. The action can be as big or as small as you choose—every action counts! SUMMARY:American Red Cross Virtual Advanced Babysitting Training
DESCRIPTION:The American Red Cross Advanced Child Care Training Online course teaches the knowledge and skills necessary to responsibly care for children and infants in and outside of the home. This self paced online course is ideal for ages 16 and up\, and includes training in leadership\, child behavior and discipline\, professionalism\, safety\, basic childcare (bottle feeding\, holding\, etc.). Learners will be engaged in virtual environments in which world-class animated characters respond specifically to choices made. Throughout\, learning is supported through additional activities and informative videos. \nNote: This program is not intended as certification for state licensed child-care providers and does not meet all state requirements for such certification. \nAll registrants will receive digital access to American Red Cross manuals Cross reference guides. This course\, which includes a final exam at the end\, takes about 4 hours to complete.
