You’ll learn more about yourself\, improve your leadership skills\, and take charge by planning and leading a fun event for younger campers. \nThis session is a great steppingstone for those who want to join the Counselor-in-Training CIT program in the future. This is your time to shine\, challenge yourself\, and become the best version of you. You’ll explore your unique leadership style\, learn to be a responsible and inspiring leader\, and better understand important program goals and issues facing youth today. You’ll also learn about child development\, outdoor living skills\, teamwork\, conflict resolution\, and how to create positive experiences for younger campers. \nIn CIT 2\, you’ll take your skills to the next level and become a leader among your peers. This session includes a week where you assist trained counselors in leading younger campers in activities and outdoor skills\, giving you hands-on experience in running camp programs and working with different group dynamics. This is your chance to learn to be a well-rounded and successful camp counselor. After finishing the C.I.T. program\, you will be eligible to apply to be part of the camp staff next summer. \nCITs will have a break from Friday\, August 1\, 2025\, at 1:15 p.m. to Monday\, August 4\, 2025\, at 1:00 p.m. During this break\, CITs must leave camp. As the sun goes down\, gather around the campfire with friends\, sharing stories\, laughter\, and memories under the stars. \nHighlights of this session: \n\nLearn survival skills like fire building and shelter construction.\nMaster outdoor cooking\, including water rescue techniques and plant identification.\nCampout on the prairie under the stars.\n\nTravel Campers: All specialized camping gear is provided by the camp for off-site camping trips. \n(Grade level for registration is the grade your Girl Scout will be entering in Fall 2025)
