This two-summer adventure is designed based on the insights of leading child development experts\, Girl Scouts of the USA and the American Camp Association. You’ll gain hands-on experience in learning to lead\, child development\, outdoor skills\, responsibility\, conflict resolution\, working with a diverse group\, and group dynamics. In the second year\, in addition to camp activities\, you’ll learn more about working with younger campers and will have the opportunity to lead them in camp activities. From reaching new heights in the treetops\, navigating the river in a kayak\, relaxing with a good book in a hammock\, and swapping stories and songs by the campfire\, you’ll experience all that camp has to offer on this three-week leadership journey. \nCITs will have a session break from 1:30 p.m. on July 18\, 2025\, through 1:30 p.m. on July 21\, 2025. CITs must plan to leave camp during this session break. \nScheduling accommodation may be made if a camper has to miss a few days of this program. CIT I is not required to participate in CIT II. DESCRIPTION:Art Attack\, July 27-Aug 1 \nWe’re packing in as much art as we possibly can into this camp session! Make your own tie dye\, mini masterpieces\, splatter art\, story stones\, pottery\, and more. We’ll work as a team to surprise all of camp with pop-up art shows and public art as we include everyone in one art attack after another. Venture outside and create a nature sculpture installation on a trail\, then your own nature inspired piece to take home. The world is your palette of inspiration! You’ll also enjoy other fun camp activities like swimming\, hiking\, and s’mores over the campfire. \nHighlights of this session: \n\nPaint\, tie-dye\, and do splatter art.\nMake pottery and a nature sculpture.\nCreate public art and put on a pop-up art show.\n\n(Grade level for registration is the grade your Girl Scout will be entering in Fall 2025)
