SUMMARY:Omaha Zoo: Girl Scout Classes
DESCRIPTION:What better way to work toward a badge than to go on an adventure with the Zoo? Join us on a quest to answer questions like: How does the Ocean affect weather and climate? How do animals adapt to habitat loss? And what can we do the help the environment? Classes are two hours long and can be booked any day of the week or weekend with a minimum of five youth. (One adult is required to attend with a 1/10 ratio minimum requirement). Classes are open to all youth (check age requirements) and are geared toward meeting badge requirements while engaging students in hands-on learning. \nEarn\, learn\, and visit the Zoo at the same time. Private Girl Scout Classes cost $25 per youth (2-hour class) or $35 per youth (3-hour class) and must be booked at least three weeks in advance with a five-participant minimum. Cost is reduced by $5 per scout if booked with an overnight experience. DESCRIPTION:Group Visits at Blank Park Zoo\nDiscounted admission is available for groups of 15 paying guests or more. Reservations are required at least 2 weeks advance to receive a school discount. \nGroup admission: \n\nStudents – $6\nChaperones – 1 free for every 10 students\, $12 for additional chaperones being paid by the school\, youth group\, scout group\, or day care.\nChaperones not included on the school/youth group bill will need to pay full admissions pricing. Chaperones with a Zoo membership must get their membership scanned before entering with the group.\n\nClick here to fill out a school group visit request.\nGet organized! Click here to download our School Group Visit Guide and checklist. \n\nEducational Add-ons for Group Visits \nAmbassador Animal Programs: \nAmbassador Animal Programs are private programs for up to 50 people. Cost is $55 per program and lasts half an hour. \n\nPrograms must be scheduled 2 weeks prior to your visit\nProgram times are 10:30\, 11:30\, 12:30 or 1:30\nGroups over 50 must request multiple programs\n\nVet Clinic Tours: \nVet Clinic Tours are private behind the scenes tours of our Animal Health Center for up to 15 people. These tours are best suited for High School students. Cost is $100 per tour and lasts half an hour. \n\nPrograms must be scheduled 4 weeks prior to your visit\nTour times are determined by vet staff availability\n\nCareer Panels: \nCareer Panels are an opportunity for students to engage with different Zoo staff and explore the different career options available at a Zoo. Career panels are best suited for Middle School and High School students. SUMMARY:American Red Cross Online Basic Babysitter Training
DESCRIPTION:American Red Cross Online only Babysitter Course \nDesigned primarily for youth ages 11 and older\, this online\, self-paced course will prepare students to be better babysitters. Topics include how to provide care for infants and children; how to stay safe; what to do in an emergency; how to choose age-appropriate activities; and how to recognize and handle a variety of behaviors. Students will also learn the basics of starting a babysitting business. The course consists of six interactive modules featuring video\, activities\, games and tools babysitters can use to build their knowledge and skills and manage their babysitting business. All registrants will receive digital access to American Red Cross manuals and reference guides. This course\, which includes a final exam at the end\, takes about 4 hours to complete.
