In partnership with the American Red Cross\, we offer a blended learning training option for volunteers. Once you register for a session\, you’ll receive an email receipt with a link to complete your at-home portion (on a PC or tablet)\, which must be completed prior to attending the in-person skills test. Allow approximately 2 hours 30 minutes to complete the online portion. \nFor the in-person session\, please wear comfortable clothing and be prepared to spend some time sitting or lying on the floor. Students who successfully complete this course will receive a certificate for Adult & Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED valid for two years. \nRegistration Close Date: 10/21/24

This event serves as a beacon of hope for individuals experiencing homelessness\, recently released from prison\, or living in poverty as they work toward rejoining the community\, the workforce\, and self-sufficiency. \nBy transforming old t-shirts into sturdy bags\, Girl Scouts can offer attendees a practical tool and symbol of resilience and second chances. Girl Scouts are welcome to include essential items like soap\, hand sanitizer\, dental floss\, toothpaste\, toothbrushes\, and deodorant inside the bags to provide extra support and care. \nT-shirt Tote Bag Instructions \nDrop-off Details: Bags can be dropped off or mailed to 520 Army Post Rd\, Des Moines\, IA 50315. Please drop off completed bags by November 12\, 2024. \nJoin us in creating tote bags and making a difference!

This year\, we’re taking the adventure to Camp Sacajawea\, with an optional overnight on Friday night that includes a glow party\, campfire fun\, and a delicious late-night order of Insomnia Cookies. \nFriday night kicks off with a Glow Party where you can light up the night with music\, dancing\, and glowing accessories. Gather around the campfire to enjoy s’mores and more. And to top it all off\, indulge in a late-night treat with a delicious Insomnia Cookies feast to satisfy your sweet tooth. \nSaturday\, dive into leadership and team-building activities by challenging yourself and your friends on the low-ropes challenge course and other fun activites. You’ll also have the opportunity to work towards earning your Global Action Award by participating in activities that make a difference on a global scale. \nDiscover what moves you\, connect with girls who share your passions\, and take action to make the world a better place. Our summit sessions focus on teamwork\, self-expression\, and global impact\, ensuring you leave inspired and ready to lead! \nAdults welcome as Chaperones! We invite adults to join as chaperones and support the girls during this incredible event. Chaperones will also have the opportunity to complete their First Aid/CPR training on Saturday. Please indicate your interest during registration. Information will be sent out at a later date.
