Kindermusik: Thursdays- January 16th, February 20th, & March 13th 5:30-6:15PM

Kindermusik is a German phrase that translates to “children’s music”. The program aims to help children learn and grow through music-making during the years when their brains are most critical for development. Children will explore music through instruments, movement, singing, and play. 3-6 years

Acrylic Painting in Pixels, Micah Ferin: Thursday, January 16th 5:00-6:30PM-

Aimed for middle school and high school students, this class focuses on learning techniques using acrylic paint to achieve the look of pixels translated into a painted form.

Watercolor Basics with Betty Walker: Sunday, January 19th 1:00-3:00PM

Discover the joy of watercolor painting in this fun and relaxing class designed for beginners. Whether you’re new to the art form or want to explore a new medium, this class will act as a step-by-step through the basics of watercolor: Choosing materials (brushes, paints, and paper), Mixing colors, Essential techniques like wet-on-wet, dry brush, and washes, and Gradients and blending. Bring your curiosity and creativity. 13+

Needle-Felted Winter Cardinal Workshop: Sunday, January 26th 2:00-4:30PM

Experience the art of needle-felting! You’ll learn techniques to create beautiful felted wool artwork using just wool and a needle in this beginner-friendly workshop. Follow along step-by-step to create a beautiful cardinal and serene winter landscape or create freely with a rainbow of colors! All tools and supplies will be provided for use during the workshop, including a 4” hoop for framing your work. Because we’ll be using sharp needles, this workshop is recommended for ages ten and up, with adult assistance required for younger participants. Led by artist Megan Hammer, www.meganhammer.com. 10+

Open Studio: Saturday, February 8th 10:00AM-12:00PM

The modern-day open studio sparks inspiration and allows for freedom of expression. Bring your own materials of choice and allow yourself to be transported to a world of imagination and creativity. 16+

Art Journaling with Madeline Maser: Saturday, February 8th 1:00-3:00PM

Join Madeline Maser for a class designed to help you get your thoughts on paper to create a visual narrative around your writing. Art journaling is a great way to record one’s memories through visual memoir and can also act as a natural idea-aggregator for artists and creatives. 16+

Narrative Drawing with Micah Ferin: Sunday, February 9th 10:00AM-12:00PM

A morning adult class focusing on Narrative and Drawing. Project consists of charcoal drawing techniques and assembling a narrative collage or collection of different images to create an interesting piece.

Acrylic on Canvas Landscapes, Thursday, February 20th 5:00-8:00PM

We are going to be dreaming of landscapes and painting from a photo on canvas. Led by Kelsey Wilson, explore your creativity with a choose your own adventure experience by bringing your own landscape photo or choosing from selected landscapes to create your own. Supplies included. 13+

Diamond Painting with Unwind Designs: Saturday, March 1st 1:00-2:30PM

Diamond painting is similar to painting by numbers. You use small, sparkly gems that stick to a special sticky canvas to make a beautiful design. Diamond painting helps to decrease stress & anxiety, enhance decision making skills, improve fine motor skills, and improve focus. Join us for an afternoon of creativity for all ages at Hoyt Sherman Place. Supplies included. 7+

Black & White Exploration with Madeline Maser: Sunday, March 9th 1:00-3:00PM

This class explores how to create abstract artwork with charcoal, ink, pastels and acrylic paint. By only using black and white, our emphasis will be on learning the basics of depth, shading, texturizing and line quality. 14+
