Happy Birthday, Girl Scouts!
Girl Scouts’ birthday, March 12, commemorates the day in 1912 when Juliette Gordon Low officially registered the organization’s first 18 members in Savannah, Georgia. Girl Scout Week is celebrated each March, starting with Girl Scout Sunday and ending with Girl Scout Sabbath on a Saturday, and it always includes Girl Scouts’ birthday, March 12.
In 2025, Girl Scout Week will be observed March 9-15. Join us each day as we celebrate our worldwide sisterhood.
- Spirit Sunday – Spread some joy today with a simple act of kindness—compliment a stranger or lend a hand to a neighbor.
- Affirmation Monday – Start the week with good vibes! Post a positive quote or text a friend something that’ll brighten their day.
- Troop Tuesday – Check in with a fellow Girl Scout and see how you can support each other this week!
- National Girl Scout Day – Rock your favorite Girl Scout gear this Wednesday then share a pic on social, remember to tag us @girlscoutsofgreateria and use #NationalGirlScoutDay.
- Thankful Thursday – Send a heartfelt Thank You card to someone who makes a difference in your life and/or tag them on social media.
- Flash Forward Friday – Dream big! Share a goal you’re excited about with a friend.
- Service Saturday – Give back by volunteering at a local shelter or lending a helping hand to those in need.
Girl Scouts Celebrate Faith
Girl Scout Week is also a time when many troops celebrate the connections between Girl Scouting and their faith, learn more about other faiths, and thank faith partners for their support throughout the year. Girls can join in the festivities on three specially designated dates (or a day of your choosing):
- Girl Scout Sunday: Sunday, March 9
- Girl Scout Jummah: Friday, March 14
- Girl Scout Sabbath/Shabbat: Friday, March 14 – Saturday, March 15
Whether you participate in a worship service, plan an activity before or after the service, or organize a service project, you can honor those meaningful connections in lots of ways!
