Join us for an unforgettable journey where we’ll uncover the secrets of these amazing aquatic creatures and their lush habitat in Mexico. Get ready to embark on a hands-on exploration, learning about the unique characteristics and behaviors of axolotls, and discover their importance in maintaining a balanced ecosystem.

Our adventure doesn’t stop there! We’re teaming up with the Cerro Gordo County Conservation naturalists for an exciting pond study that could lead us straight to meeting the fascinating cousins of axolotls: salamanders! Discover the wonders of the pond, a vibrant ecosystem teeming with life! Prepare to unravel the mysteries of the aquatic food chain, embark on thrilling net explorations to uncover hidden pond treasures, and delve deep into the aquatic world right here in Iowa.

Girl Scouts will earn their Junior Animal Habitat or Brownie Pets Badge. Fun patch and Badge are included in the registration.

Chaperones are required and must maintain appropriate girl:adult ratio.

Weather permitting, we will be outside for portions of the event. Please wear closed-toe shoes and clothes appropriate for the weather.
